Ditropis pteridis

Formerly placed in the genus Criomorphus, this is apparently a very common species on Bracken.

This individual was found on Bracken and I tentatively identified it as this using the British Bugs website. However that website only showed individuals with darker brown or blackish wings, whereas this individual had pale brown wings, so I checked it against the RES key. The frons, lacking dark markings and with two indistinct keels running throughout its length, confirmed it was pteridis. There is a photograph of a similar individual on the eakringbirds.com website.
